0. The meeting was held a week early than planned.

1. Line Hüttig is the project manager, Jens Christian is the project owner of the GDPR-project at ITU.

ITU is co-owner of some of the data that ITU researchers are working with.
There is also another process going on where we look at research data management - you will hear more about this in a month or so.

Steffen: we also have to document everything we do in research, so the "delete, delete, delete"-approach can be a bit troublesome.

Oliver: social media data - I anonymize, is this an acceptable method?
JC. yes, as long as you can't trace the data back to the individual.

2. Teaching allocation

We need to work on a better research income.
It will not be held against you if you teach one or two small courses and earned less ECTS than expected - we want to support diversity and all courses are equally important. Hence, you don't overproduce ECTS by teaching a large course and under-produce by teaching a small course.

Christopher: there's an issue with the complexity of classes - if you teach large courses (over 80 students or so), it is more work (coordinating and administratively especially). perhaps we can split some classes. The work load requires more teachers or we will have to split up some courses.
Irina: the students are entitled to a certain amount of faculty attention (according to quality policy).
All courses need to be equally important but some courses (especially large ones) need more resources to maintain the quality.
Pedro: for junior faculty it can be difficult to know where to position yourself according to the PP-model. It can feel like we get the higher work load because we don't know how to navigate. It's really important to have these open discussions so assistant professors can understand how to navigate in the system and what is expected from us.
Steffen: it would be good to have some sort of mentoring of assistant professors - to clarify the rules.

3. The admission procedure has changed so we offer a crash course in skills the students are lacking
Hanne: you can look into the qualification programme on ILM
Christopher: it cannot produce ECTS
This is about planning the course - not teaching it
It could be taught by D-VIPs

4. Because they only have four months to write their theses it has been decided that the length should only be 60 pages (not 80 as before) - it is yet to be corrected in the document.
